Bangkok 8th-11th July 2007.
Four hundreds odd photos, but only selected ones will be published! (:

Day 1, 8th July 2007, Sunday.

Puny and pard came over to my place before we set off to the airport at 4am. It was the first time we're flying budget, and i must say, it's really budget. lol. Had breakfast before boarding the plane because we were hungry for no reason. Anyway, i don't know if the system for tiger airways have changed, cos there is no more free seating. which is a very good thing! There were seats allocated to us, and we didn't have to queue up like typical kiasu singaporeans to sit together. Wheey! Bout two hours ride. For the first time i experience pain in my ears when the plane was about to land. Bad. Luckily the ear blocks cleared when i reached the airport.

Budget terminal which looks like an ice skating ring to me. after planning, failing, and planning, we finally decided to go bangkok. Song didn't join us though. ):

Breakfast at Killiney's.

she is ever so satisfied after eating. more evidence below.

drinking coffee to make sure that she has enough energy to shop.

Bangkok Airport

非常爱演!

woohooo! Finally here

It was only 7.30am Bkk time when we reached. Cabbed down to our hotel from the airport. The taxis there are so colourful and comfortable! We had to ask the driver to go on meter everytime because the cabbie tends to quote a price, which is usually overpriced for tourists.

Ha, to save money, we only booked a room for 3 when there were four of us. But the receptionist was sharp enough to notice the 4th person even though 2 of us went to 'hide', so we had to pay extra 525Baht each. Our room was amazingly HUGE! It was sooooo big that we were quite 'scared' of the space.

Headed down to Chatuchuk. Famous weekend market. It is big and messy, and we didn't know where to start. Walked around aimlessly, tried to shop, but was totally turned off by the stuffy and hot weather. At one point of time, we were too tired and hungry to carry on, but we just can't find the 'exit'. very much like a maze. Think i bought a couple of things the despite the terrible weather. Bought baby's slippers, 2 tops, 1 bag. Left the market at bout 12 or 1pm.

Cabbed back to our hotel to put down the stuff and planned where to go. Decided to go The Platinum which is just 5 mins walk away from our hotel. Had late lunch there. Platinum is basically a wholesale shopping centre, whereby you get better price if you buy 3 pieces and above. It took us a really long time to shop and we couldn't finish it before they closed. Damn. Walked over to Central World for Thai dinner and afterwhich, back to hotel cos we felt that bangkok is a dangerous place to hang out til late. Especially all 4 of us are girls.

The time in bangkok really crawled. Everytime we checked our watch, it was only a little later. After the first day, i already felt like taking the next flight back home. Probably home sick, but not exactly since i had a lot of fun with my girls. I don't know how to describe that kind of feelings, but it was definitely horrible. It sucks even more when my sms-es couldn't reach baby for god-knows-what reasons.

Baiyoke Suite Hotel Reception. Damn nice lor!

Day 2, 9th July 2007, Monday.

Got up early for the breakfast buffet at hotel. Yawns! Hadn't had a good sleep ever since the thrid week of june. For the first day we were eating the breakfast, it tasted good. Took photos around the reception area of the hotel and rotted some time away before heading to MBK.

MBK is the only place that i think i will love. Bought truck loads of stuff there! T-shirts, bag, shorts, polo tees for gawin and daddy and more... I bought so much stuff that it was too heavy for me to carry the entire day. Dined in at a Japanese restaurant during lunch. Highly recommended because it is cheap, yummy and the servings are HUGE! Just when we thought we ought to pay up and leave, they served us desserts! Don't know it was free or included. lol.

Crossed opposite to shop, and i bought more things. denim skirt, denim 3/4 pants and slippers! Cabbed back to our hotel. It was quite terrible because no cabs want to take us. There was a traffic jam, and during traffic jams in bkk, the meter jumped damn slowly. So it wasn't in favour to them. Just when we decided to walk back while flaggin on the way, one nice cabbie took us in!

Planned to go for their night bazaar at Sum Lum. But the people from our hotel recommended us this package, where they bring us to watch show, and bring us to the night market. I think the only people that we trust was the hotel people. lol. Anyway, we agreed on the package, and stupidly thought that the 'show' we were watching is ah gua show. We were still happily talking about taking photos with the ah guas. But the moment we went into the 'show' we were freaked off. We actually went to their 'Tiger Show' if you know what is it. All four of us were damn turned off that we came out after half an hour despite paying 500Baht each for an one hour show. Toally gross man. The skies were very grey and it looked as though it would rain any moment, so our chauffeur said that he'd send us back to our hotel, and the night bazaar can wait til the next day.

So we went back to the hotel and called for room delivery!

Rise and shine, but still sleepy!

Breakfast buffet at the top level of baiyoke suite.

we got up too early, so we took pictures around the hotel.

Day 3, 10th July 2007, Tuesday.

Day 3 in bangkok was an interesting and andventurous day! Woke up at 6.30am bkk time for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was pretty much the same, except for some little changes i.e ham changed to bacon. lol. Went back to our room to answer nature's call before setting out. We took an hour ride to the Floating Market, outside bangkok.

The water in the river looks extremely dirty, kinda like diluted milo. We had fun snapping away while the 'boatman' brought us around. It is a new experience for me, looking at how the thais manage their business on the river. Majority of the stalls (which are actually boats) sell similar things. Boatman would row the boat near to the stall if we point at the things, otherwise, he'd just row along the river. The first time i experienced congestion on the river! haha. boat jams! Bought a wood-made bag there. Very good place to bargain. The entire thing took us bout one hour.

Went back to our 'car'. The chauffeur that i am talking about is actually one of the hotel staff, and he is a very old man. We got quite 'friend' with his son and him, and they are really nice people. We call him the 'papa'. lol. Papa was sooooo sweet after we finished the tour, because he went to get wet napkins for us to cool us down due to the hot weather! So touched man!

He dropped us at Siam Paragon and even offered to help us bring the things we bought from floating market to hotel. Lunch at Sizzler's. Damn, by the third day, i barely had money left! I had to tell myself to stop spending so much, but failed terribly! hee.. Actually i think i was left with 2000Baht for the last two days, which is damn little! I thought i could spend 1000baht each day for the last 2 days, but i was wrong! I started buying stuff again after lunch at Fashion Mall, and there goes my 2000 Baht! lol.

Again, fashion mall closes damn early, and we had to make our way back home. Fuck man! the moment we stepped our of the shopping mall, it started to rain, HEAVILY! Cos fashion mall is too near to our hotel, no cabs would take us again. And the worst thing is even though it's close, it's not fully shelter. We had to lug our bags and walk in the rain. Argghhhh!

In the end because of the stupid rain, we couldn't go to the night bazaar again! So we called for room delivery once again, and slacked the entire night away, having girly talks, fashion parade, and packing our luggages.

On the way to floating market.

boat jams!

this is not an ordinary chair.

lol, now u know why!

Day 4, 11th July 2007, Wednesday.

wheey, last day in bangkok! The breakfast buffet was horrible by the 3rd day since it was all the same food. Checked out the hotel after breakfast, and took photos with 'papa' and handsome bell boys! We keep saying that we really don't mind going back to the hotel for that particular bell boy. lol. he's sooo cute, and he tries to speak chinese!

Walked to the famous Four Face Buddha and did a little prayers there. Actually it is only a small section. I was expecting it to be a huge temple. lol.
Went to some random shopping centre to shop. By then, i was only left with 100Baht. Which is about SGD5. lol. Not even enough for me to eat lunch. Had to go back to my reserves, which was pard's money! Ate MK steamboat for lunch. It was not bad. Very cheap. Imagine eating steamboat plus roasted pork and duck for only 480Baht. Bout SGD 6 per person. Wooo.

Then we walked around the streets and then back to our hotel to rest our poor feet. Got to the airport early cos we wanted to buy some stuff. Singaporeans are really certified kiasu people. The belts weren't even open, they were already queueing. And most of them didn't know why they were queueing, just following the crowd. Bleah.

After checking in our luggages, we went to grab a small bite. Phew, we were so worried that our bags will exceed the baggage limit. Flight was at 8.10pm, and we couldn't find a good nice cheap place to have our dinner, so we went to the family mart. Something like our 7-11. The things there are fucking cheap lah! Barcadi Breezer going for 55Baht only! We bought milk, cookies, bread and biscuits and ate as if we hadn't eaten for days. lol.

Walked around dfs, bought some thai cookies for family and gawin's family. The trip bad was horrible, at least for me. Because the stupid thai planned our seating in such a way that we were all seated in one row, and i was on my own, separated by the aisle. The fucking bitchy couple beside me was damn late and the entire plane was waiting for them. After they seated, i overhead them saying that they were late because they had to surrender their beer and liquids, and they didn't want to waste it, so they drank it on the spot. For the entire two hours journey, they were making damn lots of noise, that even though i was blasting my mp3, i could still hear what they said. Who fucking care that it was one of their friend's birthday man. (the friends were seating behind us.) They talked as if they were the only ones on board, and they even got the air stewardess to sing Happy Birthday song for their friend. wtf! And there were these 3 caucasians watching movie with their laptops on the highest volume. Fuck lah, u want to watch movie pluck in ur ear piece lah! Damn inconsiderate.

Anyway, we reached singapore on 12th July since it was past midnight. Bought liquor at dfs. Cordon bleu for Gawin and Bourbon Whiskey for Nigel, and it was byebye time. Gawin came to pick me up, and we went home straight cos he had work and i was dead tired, no thanks to the fucking people on board the plane.

Handsome Bell Boys!

and that's 'papa'.

Four Face Buddha

Beer Chang vs Red Bull!

Altogether, bangkok was fun. I don't agree that the stuff there is dirt cheap like some described, and i can't imagine people can buy half year or one year supply of clothes from bkk. It is generally cheaper than singapore, but not to the extend that one t-shirt costs SGD2. Or probably we are new to the country so we didn't know where to hunt for the really cheap clothes and the clothes there just don't appeal to us that much. I won't want to go back to bangkok like every year. The weather itself is a bloody turn off, and the air is so damn polluted. Pretty much prefer hongkong, though the stuff is more expensive. I think i bought a total of 8-10 tops, 2 shorts, 1 denim 3/4 pants, 1 denim skirt, 1 dress, 4 bags, 2 belts, 1 pair of earrings, 2 pair of shoes. Spent close to SGD 45o.

Really love travelling with my lovely girls. You girls make the trip fun. ((:
